Intel Corporation (von englisch Integrated electronics, dt. integrierte Elektronik) ist ein US-amerikanischer Halbleiterhersteller mit Hauptsitz in Santa Clara (Silicon Valley), Kalifornien. Er wurde 1968 von Mitarbeitern des Unternehmens Fairchild Semiconductor gegründet. Die Europazentrale befindet sich seit 1974 in München.[4] Intel ist vor allem für PC-Mikroprozessoren bekannt, bei denen das Unternehmen weltweit einen Marktanteil von ungefähr 80 % hält. Außerdem produziert Intel diverse weitere Arten von Mikrochips für Computer, zum Beispiel Chipsätze für Mainboards („Intel ICH“, „Intel GMA“), WLAN- und Netzwerkkarten sowie Embedded-CPUs und Flash-Speicher.

Mit einem Umsatz von 64,0 Milliarden US-Dollar, bei einem Gewinn von 11,1 Mrd. USD, steht Intel laut Forbes Global 2000 auf Platz 594 der weltgrößten Unternehmen (Stand: Geschäftsjahr 2017). Das Unternehmen kam im Juni 2018 auf eine Marktkapitalisierung von 254,8 Mrd. USD.[5]

he PC and server CPU giant will be sharing its Q4 report after the bell on Thursday, and hosting an earnings call at 5 p.m. ET. On average, analysts polled by FactSet expect revenue of $19.02 billion (up 12% annually) and non-GAAP EPS of $1.22.

Intel also shares quarterly and full-year sales and EPS guidance in its reports. Currently, the consensus is for Q1 revenue of $17.31 billion (up 8%) and EPS of $1.01, and for 2019 revenue of $73.19 billion (up 3%) and EPS of $4.53.

Intel Slides on Revenue Miss, Weak Guidance

The chipmaker gave guidance for the first quarter and the full year that fell short of expectations.

Earnings per share came in at $1.28, beating estimates for $1.22, but the giant chipmaker's revenue of $18.66 billion fell short of estimates for $19.02 billion.

The company also said it expects revenue of $16 billion on earnings of 87 cents per share in the first quarter of 2019, while Wall Street was expecting guidance of $17.3 billion and earnings of $1.01 per share. For the full year, Intel gave guidance of $71.5 billion in revenue and earnings per share of $4.60, compared to expectations of $73.19 billion in revenue and earnings of $4.53 per share.   

The company also announced that its board of directors has approved a five percent increase in its cash dividend to $1.26 per-share on an annual basis.

Ist die Frage ob Intel die Kurve kriegt - AMD ist bei PC Prozessoren davongezogen, und Apple setzt eher auf ARM wie Intel.
