T2 Biosystems Says Panel Can Detect Covid Variants, Shares Up 26%

Shares of T2 Biosystems, Inc. are trading over 26% higher after hours Thursday following the company's announcement that its T2SARS-CoV-2 Panel is capable of detecting the Mu and Iota variants of SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The company said the T2SARS-CoV-2 Panel is a "molecular diagnostic test that detects SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19 infections."

At 5:29 p.m. EDT, the company's shares were trading 26.93% higher at $1.10 a share. Volume at the time topped 2.3 million shares.
