Coty upgraded as stock valuation hit ‘rock bottom’ last year

Analyst sees ‘limited downside’ in the stock after it was the worst performing S&P 500 component last year.

Coty Inc.’s stock was so bad last year, it’s unlikely to get much worse this year.

That may not sound like a ringing endorsement of the beauty-products company, which brands include Covergirl, Clairol and Max Factor, but it’s enough for J.P. Morgan analyst Andrea Teixeira to recommend investors stop selling.

Teixeira raised her rating on the stock to neutral, after being at underweight since March 2017, citing “rock bottom” valuation. Teixeira said a sum-of-the-parts analysis suggests “limited downside from current levels” over the next year.

The New York-based company posted a loss of $960.6 million, or $1.28 a share, after reporting a profit a year ago. Adjusted earnings came to 24 cents a share, beating analysts' expectations of 22 cents. Coty, whose brands include Max Factor, Calvin Black, Clairol, and Tiffany, reported earnings of 32 cents a share a year ago.

Revenue totaled $2.51 billion, beating Wall Street's forecast of $2.47 billion.

Hattest du nicht mal eine Einschätzung im AB dazu geschrieben? Oder verwechsele ich das mit einer anderen Aktie?

COTY habe ich mir noch nicht näher angeschaut.

Zuletzt hatte ich am 8.3.2018 draufgeschaut und da ist sie durch mein Raster gefallen wegen negativem Income und für mich zu geringer Marktkapitalisierung.

Letzteres ist für mich immer noch ein gewichtiges Kriterium, daher beschäftige ich mich gar nicht genauer warum und wieso ein negativer Income entstanden ist.

Die deutsche Milliardärsfamilie Reimann will die Mehrheit am US-Kosmetikkonzern Coty
übernehmen: Ihre Beteiligungsgesellschaft JAB bietet den Coty-Aktionären 11,65 Dollar
pro Aktie, das sind fast 21 Prozent mehr als der Schlusskurs am Montag an der Wall Street.
Insgesamt würde JAB 1,75 Milliarden Dollar (1,55 Milliarden Euro) in die Hand nehmen.
Bislang besitzt JAB rund 40 Prozent an Coty. Die Holding strebt einen Anteil von 60 Prozent an.
