Charles Schwab Fourth-Quarter Earnings Beats Forecasts; Shares Rise
Shares gain more than 3% on higher interest margins, gains in trading activity.
Bank and brokerage firm Charles Schwab Corp. (SCHW - Get Report) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings that surpassed analysts' expectations, thanks to higher interest margins and gains in trading activity.
Net income for the fourth quarter of 2018 was $935 million, or 65 cents a share, up from $597 million, or 41 cents, in the fourth quarter of 2017. Revenue rose to $2.67 billion from $2.24 billion in the year-earlier quarter.
Analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research had expected per-share earnings of 64 cents on revenue of $2.63 billion.

auf die News, dass SCHW ihre Online Borkerage Fees auf Null runternimmt, verliert die Aktie zur Zeit ca. 7%

SCHW hat die Handelsgebühren für ETFs, Aktien, Optionen and den Börsen in USA & Canada gestrichen.
Andere Online-Brokern in den USA geraten ebenfalls unter Druck: TD Ameritrade oder E-Trade stürzen um jeweils 20%, Interactive Brokers verlieren um die 7% bis jetzt.....

hätte nicht gedacht dass die Fintechs wie Robinhood so einschlagen. Offenbar verlieren die klassischen Broker Marktanteile wenn sie zu solchen Massnahmen greifen
so sehr ich die Preiskämpfe begrüsse, aber angeblich verschlechtern sich die Marktbedingungen
so soll Robinhood Orders an Marketmaker anstatt an die Börsen leiten um so Provisionen zu kassieren

da kannst du dir sicher sein, da wird der Retailer so RICHTIG schön abgezogen.
