Gold prices settle at highest in 2 weeks
Gold prices climbed Wednesday to mark their highest settlement in two weeks as the U.S. dollar pared back its week-to-date gain and held onto its decline for the month so far. Prices recouped losses from a day earlier to notch a fifth gain in six sessions. December gold GCZ8, +0.51% rose by $6.80, or 0.6%, to settle at $1,228 an ounce. That was the highest finish for a most-active contract since Nov. 7, according to FactSet data.
