Stocks rise in final session of 2018 but log biggest annual decline in 10 years
Stocks ended higher in the final trading session of the year Monday, but logged Wall Street's biggest annual decline since 2008. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.85% rose around 21 points, or 0.9%, to end near 2,507, according to preliminary figures, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +1.15% rose around 265 points, or 1.1%, to close around 23,327. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.77% rose around 51 points, or 0.8%, to end near 6,635.
