Victoria's Secret parent L Brands Dec. same-store sales flat vs. year-ago period

Victoria's Secret parent L Brands Inc. LB, -7.60% said Thursday same-store sales were flat in December compared with the year-earlier period. Net sales edged down to $2.477 billion from $2.516 billion. For the 47 weeks ended Jan. 5, same-store sales rose 3%, while net sales rose to $12.457 billion from $11.592 billion a year ago.

Victoria's Secret parent stock falls 8% after mixed Q4 results

L Brands said it earned $540 million, or $1.94 a share, in the quarter, compared with $664 million, or $2.33 a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted for one-time items, the company earned $2.14 a share, compared with $2.11 a share a year ago. Revenue rose to $4.85 billion from $4.82 billion a year ago.

Victoria's Secret sale could be nixed, L Brands stock sinks 20%

L Brands Inc. LB, -18.74% stock sank 20.7% before it was halted on Wednesday after it confirmed that it received notice from Sycamore Partners that the private-equity firm plans to terminate the deal to purchase a 55% stake in Victoria's Secret for $525 million. The deal, which includes the lingerie business, Victoria's Secret Beauty and the Pink brand, was announced February 20.

Das kriselnde Dessous-Label Victoria's Secret bekommt aufgrund der Corona-Krise nun doch keinen neuen Mehrheitsbesitzer. Der US-Mutterkonzern L Brands gab in der Nacht zum Dienstag eine Einigung mit dem Finanzinvestor Sycamore Partners bekannt, der eigentlich 55 Prozent hatte übernehmen sollen.

Der im Februar beschlossene Deal, bei dem die Modemarke mit 1,1 Milliarden Dollar (1,0 Mrd. Euro) bewertet worden war, sei aufgehoben worden. Die Aktien von L Brands stürzten nachbörslich um über zehn Prozent ab.

Konzernmutter von "Victoria's Secret" hat im Weihnachtsquartal erstaunlich gute Geschäfte gemacht - obwohl das Dessous-Labels weiter in der Krise steckt. Unterm Strich verdiente L Brands in den drei Monaten bis Ende Januar 860 Millionen Dollar (706 Mio Euro), wie das Unternehmen am Mittwoch nach US-Börsenschluss mitteilte. Vor einem Jahr hatte es 192 Millionen Dollar Verlust gegeben. Der Umsatz stieg um gut zwei Prozent auf 4,8 Milliarden Dollar.
