Apple Should Acquire Netflix for $189 Billion, J.P. Morgan Analyst Says

Apple has plenty of cash to make big acquisitions. And J.P. Morgan believes it should start with Netflix.

In a note to investors on Monday, J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee said that “Netflix is the best strategic fit” for Apple to acquire, according to CNBC, which obtained a copy of the note. The analyst added that Apple should acquire a company in the entertainment market and buying a company smaller than Netflix to try and compete against the streaming market leader would be a bad idea.

Netflix says it will not join Apple TV service

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Netflix Inc, the world's dominant streaming service, will not make its TV shows and movies available through Apple Inc's upcoming video offering, Netflix Chief Executive Reed Hastings said on Monday.

"We prefer to let our customers watch our content on our service," Hastings told reporters at the company's offices in Hollywood. "We have chosen not to integrate with their service."

Apple is expected to unveil a television and video service at an event on March 25, a move that will amp up competition for Netflix and others that deliver entertainment programing online.

The bullish golden cross forms when a shorter-term moving average crosses above a longer term. It signals the reversal of a downtrend. A golden cross formed March 11 on Netflix’s charts.
