Union Pacific (NYSE:UNP) is up 4.09% and carved out a new all-time high of $177.76 earlier in the session following the company's Q1 earnings report.

Investors appear to be bidding up UNP due to the backed guidance from management. Despite the weather headwinds it faced in Q1 and into Q2, Union Pacific expects low single-digit volume growth for the full year.

Union Pacific (UNP) Q2 Earnings Top & Rise Y/Y, Stock Up

United Pacific Corporation’s UNP second-quarter 2019 earnings of $2.22 per share surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 10 cents. The bottom line also increased 12.1% on a year-over-year basis primarily due to lower costs. This outperformance on the earnings front seems to have found favor with investors. As a result, the stock gained in pre-market trading.

Operating revenues came in at $5,596 million, which edged past the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $5,576.7 million. The figure, however, decreased 1.3% year over year due to sluggish freight revenues (down 2%). The year over year decline was due to a 4% reduction in business volumes, measured by total revenue carloads. Notably, bulk of revenues (93.6%) at Union Pacific was derived from freight in the reported quarter.

Operating income in the second quarter increased 8% year over year to $2.3 billion.

Ich hatte mich schon vor einiger Zeit von der Hälfte meiner UNP Aktien getrennt, da Sie sehr gut gelaufen waren und mir persönlich schon zu heiss. Wir werden sehen ob das jetzt der Anfang vom Ende des Zyklus ist, Anzeichen dazu gäbe es ja schon seit ein paar Monaten.

Sollte der Kurs wieder zurückkommen bin ich mit Sicherheit wieder mit an Bord, für mich ein großartiges Unternehmen, dass schon vor ein paar Jahren beim letzten Abschwung gezeigt hat wie gut es sich in harten Zeiten macht. Mein Ziel wäre unter 120$ - schauen wir mal ob er soweit runterkommt.

Glaube mich zu erinnern das der nicht bei UNP, sondern bei NSC investiert war/ist. Die Charts aller Railroads in US laufen aber fast identisch.
