NEW YORK (Reuters) - Blackstone Group LP, the world's largest manager of alternative assets, said on Thursday fourth-quarter earnings slumped 42 percent from a year earlier to $722 million, hurt by lower performance fees.

Distributable earnings - the actual cash available for paying dividends - were 57 cents per unit in the fourth quarter, compared with $1 per unit a year earlier, when earnings were boosted by a windfall from the sale of European warehouse firm Logicor.

Blackstone buys Dream Global REIT in $6.2B deal

REIT concentrated on European office and industrial properties


Blackstone Group, a U.S. private equity firm, has signed a deal to acquire Dream Global Real Estate Investment Trust in a deal
valued at $6.2 billion, including debt.

Dream Global holds a portfolio of office and industrial properties located in Western Europe,
focused on Germany and the Netherlands.

Under the agreement, Dream Global unitholders will receive $16.79 per unit.
Dream Global units closed at $14.17 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday.

Net income attributable to Blackstone was $483.1 million against net loss of $10.9 million recorded in the year-ago quarter.

For 2019, distributable earnings of $2.31 per share surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.26. Moreover, the figure reflects rise of 6.5% from the prior year. Net income attributable to Blackstone was $2.05 billion, up from $1.54 billion a year ago.

Die Blackstone Group, der weltweit größte Verwalter von alternativen Anlagen wie Private Equity und Immobilien, sagte am Donnerstag, dass sich sein ausschüttungsfähiger Gewinn im ersten Quartal auf 1,2 Milliarden Dollar mehr als verdoppelt hat, da er sich von Beteiligungen trennte.
Die Dealmaking-Aktivitäten stiegen im Quartal stark an, da ein boomender Aktienmarkt und niedrige Kreditkosten die Private-Equity-Firmen dazu ermutigten, einige ihrer Vermögenswerte zu Höchstpreisen zu verkaufen.
Blackstone meldete einen ausschüttungsfähigen Gewinn pro Aktie von 96 Dollar und übertraf damit die durchschnittliche Analystenschätzung der Wall Street von 76 Cent, wie der Finanzdatenanbieter Refinitiv berichtet.
Um im Quartal Kasse zu machen, brachte Blackstone die App Bumble Inc. im Rahmen eines 2,2 Mrd. $ schweren Börsengangs an die Börse. Blackstone hatte 2019 3 Mrd. $ für eine Mehrheitsbeteiligung an Bumble gezahlt. 
Blackstone sagte, dass sein Private-Equity-Portfolio im Quartal um 15,3 % zulegte, verglichen mit einem Anstieg des Benchmark-Aktienindex S&P 500 um 5,8 % im gleichen Zeitraum. Opportunistische und Core-Immobilienfonds stiegen um 5,3 % bzw. 3,2 %.
Das gesamte verwaltete Vermögen stieg auf 648,8 Mrd. US-Dollar von 618,6 Mrd. US-Dollar im Vorquartal, was auf ein starkes Fundraising zurückzuführen ist. Das Unternehmen beendete das Quartal mit 148,2 Mrd. USD an unverbrauchtem Kapital.
Blackstone kündigte an, eine Quartalsdividende von 82 Cents pro Aktie zu zahlen.
